Brian Melick: Home
Hi and thank you for stopping by and visiting me.
Very excited about the different performances and programs coming up. Seth and the Moody Melix are celebrating our new children's music release entitled "Pickle Pie". We have been enjoying presenting concerts in preparation to our cd release concert which will be presented at the Spa Little Theatre in Saratoga Springs. Have the wonderful opportunity to create music for the first time with fellow percussionist Cheryl Prashker and continuing our musical journey with my good friend Reggie Harris combining percussion, guitar, vocals and spoken word in a program entitled "It's all About the Drum". Throughout the summer and into the fall I have been enjoying an improvisational performance opportunity with the Ellen Sinopoli's Dance Company at various playgrounds throughout the Capitol District and North Country of New York State in a program that they created entitled "Undercover Playground". Looking forward to several concerts with Elizabeth Woodbury-Kasius & Heard, Bernstein Bard Quintet, Joy Adler and the Souls of Evolution, Globetrotting, Jeremy Wall as well as Christmas shows with my great friends Chris Shaw, Bridget Ball, John Kirk and Kevin McKrell. Kevin and I will be performing for the beautiful “Melodies of Christmas” this year. We are always honored to be a part of it. This will mark our fourth appearance.
November and December brings in my second year presenting my Diverse Elements Concert Series at the New Baltimore Reformed Church. November features the Bernstein Bard Quintet performing a mix of great dance music for our Community Dance / Concert and December features a hero and great friend of mine Maria Zemantauski presenting her recently released Christmas Recording. This series segues beautifully into my fourth year co-presenting our Acoustic Doorways Concert Series along with the RCS Community Library. Our season will run from January through to April. We are looking forward to presenting the music of Azzaam Hameed, Rena Graf, Carl West, Sonny Daye, Perley Rousseau, Charlie Tokarz, Peggy Delaney, Bill Delaney, Dave Casner, Crispin Catricala, Robot, Danny Whelchel as well as myself. The music diversity will span from Gospel, Soul, R & B, Funk, Roots, Jazz, Swing, Brazilian, Latin, World Flavors and Caribbean.
March 2012 brings on the opportunity to travel around the country with an absolute treasure Cathie Ryan. I had the privilege to record with Cathie this past summer and can't wait for her new recording to be released. It brought back the opportunity to work with another treasure, Scott Petito; NRS Studios / Producer / Engineer / Musician. 2012 will also bring on the opportunity to work with the Dayton Symphony with Cathie as well.
Please check out my calendar and stop out if you can. Would love the opportunity to cross paths with you again...
Stay well -
Brian
